October Monthly Refresher – Attention To Detail + Monthly Challenge

A well maintained bus, operated by a safe driver, is a moving advertisement for Panorama Tours. Drivers on the road notice our vehicles and how they are driven. The hope is that they will remember the Panorama name when they are in need of bus service.

What comes to mind when you see an impeccable bus?  Do you think of the drivers who must use care when traversing our local area?  Do you think of the money that the company pours into maintenance and body work?

Panorama takes pride in our attention to safety and professionalism. Customers want to feel that the company they are giving their money to is giving them the best possible service.  If you go the extra mile by anticipating their wants and needs, it can have a substantial impact on their experience and our overall reputation.

Greet your customers at the door and assist them with their luggage.  Introduce yourself and give a safety speech.  This creates a feeling of security and professionalism.  A personalized greeting reminds passengers that you are more than just a body in a seat.  Encourage your riders to share their feedback.  Anyone who is mentioned in a Google review will receive a $5 gift card.

This care and attention must also be extended to our fleet.  Our vehicles have been experiencing a significant amount of damage.  We understand that accidents happen but we need to be vigilant in our efforts to reduce preventable damage.  Last week, we asked all of you to begin documenting your pre and post trips with photos in the app.  This must be done every day.  Repetition creates habit. This habit will help you recognize body damages when they occur so that we can rectify them immediately and be that impeccable fleet of buses driving down the road.  We want you to feel pride in the vehicle you drive.  We will be maximizing our efforts to keep drivers in their assigned vehicles to establish a sense of pride and ownership.

MONTHLY CHALLENGE

This month’s challenge is to take a step back and hold your teammates and yourself accountable. Next time you report to the yard, take a minute to walk around your bus and really notice the details. Take note when you return to the yard – was that there earlier?  Maybe I did hit that tree branch, curb, etc…  And, if you see damage on a different bus in the yard, please, say something.  We are not trying to punish, penalize, or place blame on anyone- we are only trying to make sure your bus looks great and that you feel comfortable when you are in the vehicle 8+ hours a day.
